Description

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum is the world's most comprehensive country music institution, spanning 350,000 square feet in the heart of downtown Nashville. From the earliest folk roots of the 19th century to the chart-toppers of today, the museum tells the full story of American country music through more than 2.5 million artifacts, recordings, instruments, costumes, and handwritten lyrics.

The centerpiece is Sing Me Back Home, a permanent multi-floor exhibit that walks visitors through country music's history era by era -- from Appalachian folk traditions through the Urban Cowboy years, the 1990s boom, and into the modern era. Current rotating exhibits include Lainey Wilson: Tough as Nails (through June 2026) and Dolly Parton: Journey of a Seeker (May-September 2026), both included with standard admission.

The Hall of Fame Rotunda displays bronze plaques honoring every inductee in country music history, while the Taylor Swift Education Center offers immersive programming and displays on the next generation of the genre. Behind-glass archives let visitors observe museum curators working with rare recordings and artifacts in real time.

An optional audio guide ($5 add-on) enhances the self-guided experience with narration by WSM radio personality Bill Cody in 7 languages. On-site dining includes four venues ranging from Bajo Sexto Taco to the sit-down 2|22 Eatery.

The museum is located at 222 Rep John Lewis Way S in Nashville's SoBro district, steps from Broadway and walkable from downtown hotels. Open daily 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
