Description

In 2006, brothers Andy and Charlie Nelson drove to a small Tennessee town to visit a butcher and left with something far more significant: two perfectly preserved bottles of whiskey made by their great-great-great grandfather. That detour set them on a mission to resurrect one of America's most storied distilling families, right here in Nashville.

Learn the full Nelson family whiskey story from its 1800s origins to today's production, without needing any background in distilling to follow every chapter.

On this 60-minute guided tour, you start with the discovery story, tracing the arc from 19th-century origins through Prohibition's end to the brothers' revival. From there, the tour moves to the working production floor, where you see how the distillery team creates Tennessee whiskey using traditions from the original Nelson family recipe alongside newer expressions like Nelson Brothers Whiskey.

Walk the working production floor where Tennessee whiskey is made today, without a booking far in advance, even if you've never been inside a working distillery before.

The tour closes with a guided tasting of four seasonal offerings. Pours typically include expressions from both the flagship Nelson's Green Brier Tennessee Whiskey and the Nelson Brothers line, with your guide walking through flavor differences between styles and age statements. Non-drinking guests are welcome on the tour at a reduced ticket price. Military and First Responders receive a discounted rate with valid ID.

Taste four seasonal whiskey expressions guided by someone who knows the family history behind every bottle, even if your group includes a mix of whiskey enthusiasts and non-drinkers.

Tours run seven days a week with frequent departures and last 45 to 60 minutes. Plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early for check-in. Groups of 16 or more should submit a group inquiry in advance.
